DIY: My Custom Gold Studded Chuck Taylor Project

I always wanted a pair of studded Christian Louboutin slip-ons, but since I can't afford them I decided to try out the studded trend by my own means while being creative. 

To satisfy my studded apparel fetish, I went out to Mood designer fabric store in the Garment District in Midtown Manhattan and got two packs of gold studs that ended up only being $9 for 144 pieces. Not bad I'd say for a starters pack. 

Here are the final results. I didn't go to crazy with the studs since I wasn't going for "flashy". I also applied the studs on the both of the outer sides of the shoe. The application process was not hard at all if you were wondering, it took me no more than 1 hour to complete both shoes.

I'm ready to give my newly revamped shoes a spin and will hopefully have an outfit photo for you as soon as I set that up.

Model Takes MULTIPLE Tumble at Anthony Vaccarello Runway Show

 A poor model had to be escorted off the runway at the Anthony Vaccarello show yesterday in Paris when she stumbled many times due to shoe complications. The shoes she was wearing were from the Anthony Vaccarello x Giuseppe Zanotti collaboration.

Either this girl can't walk in heels, or those shoes are just not good to walk in. This poor girl won't be booking many more jobs in the future.

News: The Edgy Rodarte Now Makes Their Own Shoes

 The 'Black Swan' costume designers, edgy fashion house Rodarte have now added footwear to their collections as of February 14th. Rodarte has been known to pull collaborations with other footwear designers such as Christian Louboutin and Nicholas Kirkwood to provide the shoes for their runway looks, but we get to see a full head-to-toe Rodarte outfit. 

The shoes themselves are edgy, and eyecatching nonetheless. The hard, bold and sturdy shoes that were walked down the runway this season juxtaposed nicely with the actual clothes on the models. I'm guessing the Rodarte girls wanted to really show off the new shoes. 

The reason why I love these shoes so much are because of the plexiglass heels filled with sand. I haven't seen something like that before and I love Rodarte's style. I could see the female me in anything Rodarte makes.

Shoes: Iris van Herpen x United Nude’s Spring 2012 Fang

The Iris van Herpen x United Nude collaboration for this season has churned out a literal monster of a heel. Haven't seen anything like it before. Ten fang-like, fiberglass teeth make up the height of the shoe. From the looks of the structure, it seems like the fangs would make for a wobbly walk if your not stepping down properly. 

These shoes are just off the runway right now and not guaranteed to go into production so no word on price.

United Nude x Iris Van Herpen collaborated back for the Fall 2010 collection at London Fashion Week creating this Alexander McQueen like twisted wire platforms [$1,295]. The selection was super limited edition, only 240 pairs were made.

 Now United Nude and Iris Van Herpen are teaming up again once more for their Spring 2012 show and these puppies are one of the prototypes that we should be seeing soon. The creative director of United Nude, Rem D Koolhaas say, "We are still figuring out the production because the heels are so against gravity."
