News: Designers + Their Uniforms

Alexander Wang is usually in a slouchy white shirt with black pants or shorts.

Karl Lagerfeld and his tailored black suit and high, white collars.

Tom Ford is always in a variation of black suit. Sometimes he will shock with a white one.

It has been proven after you had become a successful designer in the fashion industry you have to wear the same or similar outfits all the times that your photographed. I guess it's an undying rule. I've never heard why this is true or not, but it really interests me as to why it's true.

Another thing that I've notice is that designers rarely wear pieces from their lines. I recently did an article were the girls from Rodarte explained as to why they don't. Maybe these facts and many others have been answered in their bios.

Spotlight: My Love For Celine

Celine has officially been added to my list of favorite designers. I was first introduced to the name when I saw the button-up Kanye wore at the Coachella festival this past summer. Note: I later found out that the top was a women's top.

Now again I'm learning of the it Celine Boston Bag [$1,300] that I saw in my September Issue of Vogue and on the shoulders of the Olsen Twins photo above.

Shoes: Guess The Giuseppe?

This post is to show you that many companies knock-off fashion houses all the time and yet get away with it. Shoe A and Shoe B look exactly the same, but one shoe is made by chain Bakers while the other is made by famous house Giuseppe and valued at $750. Can you guess which one is which?

Still guessing?

Shoe A is Bakers [$90]
Shoe B is a Giueseppe Zanoti Platform Wedge [$750]

Clothing Line: Lanvin Commercial Fall 2012

Raquel Zimmermann and Karen Elson and other girl and guy models are featured dancing to Pitbulls "I Know You Want Me" in Lanvin's new Fall 2012 commercial. It's a fun video that shows that fashion doesn't have to be taken so seriously. I'm glad we get to see actual models dance though. Who knew they could?

Is this a dress, skirt, pants?

Marc Jacobs Creepy Menswear Campaign 2011

Cerith Wyn Evans is literally getting a lot of buzz about his fruit and berries all over the internet this season with his recent feature in Marc Jacobs menswear ads. 53-year-old conceptual artist is in some shots shown completely nude with jus a some balloons strategically placed while in others in just a black dinner suit.

Many people are wondering why this concept for his campaign was chosen. A guess I would have is just for the shock value. Isn't this what 50-year-old men do at this age anyways?

More uncensored photos after the break!

Jewelry Neckpiece By House of Baulch

Here is a one of a kind neckpiece from Australian based designer House of Baulch. This piece caught my eye because of how much it scream high-fashion and yet at the same time simple in design.

At first glance the neckpiece looks as if it's connected to the dresses, but as you can see it's featured on the model with different outfits.

I've contacted the designer to get more information on the Australian fashion house and this specific neck-piece.

Runway Looks: Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2011

I know I am late posting this, but better late than never right?
This season's line from the McQueen house was rather disappointing to me. I was not feeling of the looks coming down the runway.
The majority of the time I am able to distinguish designers from the lines and this time I couldn't.
Hope this is not a recurring instance.

Runway Looks: L.A.M.B Fall 2011

Here's just 3 looks from Gwen's Fall 2011 line. I'm just now getting in her work so I'm going to start following her more closely.

L.A.M.B's line is cohesive but still has outfits that can fit to a certain person. My favorite pieces from the line are pictured above. She has some flowy elegant dresses [which were my favorite]. H; business casual, dressy, elegant and rocker-chic. Fall in love with L.A.M.B like I did.

Designer: Verna Fogg of Vina Amor

Verna Fogg is the head designer and founder of Vina Amor jewelry. I found her work on Twitter and I'm so glad I get to share her work with you. I love finding jewelry that you can't find in stores; one-of-a-kind. Vintage jewelry is nice, but hand-made pieces are even better.

Verna has been designing jewelry and customizing her own clothes ever since high-school, but as of two years ago she decided to making creative designs for other.
All of her designs are made to order with a 7-day money back guarantee, so you know your getting a quality product.

Check out the rest of her work and portfolio here.

Patricia Fields + Sex And The City 2

Sex and the City costume designer Patricia Fields explains some of the more fabulous and iconic looks from the movie. She explains the looks above below:

"It was a concern of Sarah Jessica’s that Carrie’s not a kid anymore, and so maybe we should change her style, but I said, 'No, she's not a kid, but she's still Carrie! She doesn't all of a sudden have a lobotomy and become like Charlotte, or become a designer-driven dresser.'

In this shot, Carrie has a potpourri on." (This is the $50,000 outfit.) "That’s a Chanel skirt over a pair of jeans by the Blonds, the same design team that made Samantha’s dress. They have all these cuts and slits in them, behind which are Swarovskis and studs. And it’s just a simple blouse she’s wearing, I think it's vintage, which is classic Carrie.

Charlotte’s wearing a vintage YSL that I found at a vintage dealer in New York.

Here, Miranda's wearing an old Halston, which I used a lot of in the movie. It’s green, one of those colors that not many women can wear, but that looks great on her. I’m not sure what’s going on with her hair, though. I don’t like it curled up that way. Hair-makeup and wardrobe are two different departments.

I love Samantha’s dress! It’s from a design team that I have a personal relationship with called the Blonds. They're both men, but one dresses like a woman, and they're like a couple. And Phillipe Blond was wearing this red dress at some event we were both at, and I said to him, 'Phillipe we have to have that dress for the movie!' ... You know how people talk about how Samantha is just like a drag queen?

Clothing Line: Band Of Outsiders Fall 2010

From the Fall 2010 lines for Men, the Band of Outsiders is one that caught my eye the most.
Think lumberjack meets J. Crew.
