This Season's 4 Most Interesting Runway Shows To Watch Fall 2012

Louis Vuitton Paris, March 7, 2012. With mixed reviews this show still under the creative rule of Marc Jacobs came a train that pulled into "Louis Vuitton Station". You can watch the full show here.

Chanel January 2012. A life-size aircraft was built to house Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2012 couture show inside the Grand Palais in Paris

Moncler New York, February 12, 2012. The models on ice at the Moncler show in Central Park.

Burberry London. Artificial rain and thunder closed the show while the models protected themselves with their umbrellas.

Model Takes MULTIPLE Tumble at Anthony Vaccarello Runway Show

A poor model had to be escorted off the runway at the Anthony Vaccarello show yesterday in Paris when she stumbled many times due to shoe complications. The shoes she was wearing were from the Anthony Vaccarello x Giuseppe Zanotti collaboration.

Either this girl can't walk in heels, or those shoes are just not good to walk in. This poor girl won't be booking many more jobs in the future.

Video: Burberry Prorsum Fall 2012 Runway Show

In case you weren't abe to make it to London to see the Burberry Prorsum Fall 2012 Womenswear for yourself, we got you covered with both the behind the scenes and the full runway show footage. Enjoy.

I've never been a big fan of Burberry's shows, but the theatrics of the rain falling at the end adds such a nice touch to a big fashion houses show. It's called a runway show right?

Runway Looks: Givenchy F/W 2012 Staple Item; Man Skirt

Givenchy shown us enough man skirts AGAIN this season to keep me gagging to the shows completion [also see S/S 2011 here]. I personally want to try the skirt/kilt for myself and I love the love it's getting and Givenchy being on list of my favorite designers on top of that?

The fashion industry including Comme des Garcons, Marc Jacobs, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen are going to push the "male back in skirts" they gag like I did.

Runway Looks: Alexander McQueen Men's F/W 2012

Here are the Runway Looks from Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen for the mens fall/winter 2012 collection. The collection this year caught my eye the most with the leather and understated velvet sheen quality blazers and pants have to them.

Also who would have thought the entire LookBook would be done with two black guys? You rarely see black men cover fashion shows and it was pretty interesting not seeing a white face for this particular show.

Hot or Not: Silk/Satin Tank Tops From Lanvin

How it was worn on the runway.
Lanvin S/S 2012 collection has these "interesting" silk satin, knee-length tank tops [$1,100] that I'm guessing need to be worn to experience themselves.

Wearing silk is awesome on the skin, let alone a tank top; that would be cool to wear in the Summer.

The pattern, cut and color choices give me Aztec influences just like the pattern above.

Runway Looks: Tom Ford S/S 2012

Critics have said this season was not one of Tom's best. They are saying that because his work
was played safe this time around. Some of the critics recounted how "Ford awkwardly awaited a standing ovation at the end of the show, only to receive polite claps. They also described it as "a bit flat" and "resembl[ing] an out-of-style Gucci collection from ten years ago."

“My focus is really old-fashioned,” he declares. “I want to do classic clothes. I don’t want to do trendy collections that swing around from season to season. I want to do things that will stay in a woman’s wardrobe a long time—quite ‘forever’ pieces. So I’m looking for consistency.”

Runway Looks: Alexander McQueen S/S 2012

I'm always happy to see Alexander McQueen each season because I know it will be over the top for sure. This seasons looks were based around a nature, floral them showing a feminine material but really turning it up a notch to almost dominatrix in some pieces with the face masks and revealing nature of the material.

Runway Looks: Kanye West S/S 2012 | Paris

I'm pleased to get the chance to see the fashion icon, Kanye West runway show that put all the speculations of existence to rest. On October 1st Kanye's debut line was shown to the world in Paris.

It was his first runway show so all the pressure was surrounding the sink or swim or the feedback. Everyone knows Kanye as the musician not the designer.
I personally was rather surprised and yet thankful the clothes didn't showcase the stereotypical urban touch that most rappers give turn designers ie. Diddy and Russell Simmons.

Style.com owned by Conde Naste wrapped up their review of the line by stating that "conquering his new medium is a work in progress." That was pretty harsh I must say for a first timer.

Runway Looks: Day 1 S/S 2012 | MBFW

Here are the top two lines from Day 1: September 8th
Satin + Sheer

BCBG Max Azria
Color blocking pattern is still going strong with this years line. The loose flawy, satin fabric got so much air on the catwalk. The color pallet was very exciting bright hues : yellows, teals, whites and leaf greens. The inspiration for this line seemed to come from south of the border with it's South America cuts.

Nicholas K
Nicholas K set the tone of the line with "the Cassie" hair, muted color pattern and thick chunky boots. The clothes were layered really well with thick and sheer pieces. You could see hobo, grunge written all over this line.

The rest of the photos from both lines are after the break! Enjoy.

Runway Looks: Rodarte For Opening Ceremony [Preview]

This line for Opening Ceremony designed by Rodarte was inspired by Scandinavia.
The muted color pattern and the long tiered dresses all ties in with the theme. Many of the pieces are made of mohair and strips of lamb skin.

Runway Looks: Acne Resort 2012

My favorite look from this show. White after Labor Day.

Is this a dress, skirt, pants?

Runway Looks: Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2011

I know I am late posting this, but better late than never right?
This season's line from the McQueen house was rather disappointing to me. I was not feeling of the looks coming down the runway.
The majority of the time I am able to distinguish designers from the lines and this time I couldn't.
Hope this is not a recurring instance.

Runway Looks: L.A.M.B Fall 2011

Here's just 3 looks from Gwen's Fall 2011 line. I'm just now getting in her work so I'm going to start following her more closely.

L.A.M.B's line is cohesive but still has outfits that can fit to a certain person. My favorite pieces from the line are pictured above. She has some flowy elegant dresses [which were my favorite]. H; business casual, dressy, elegant and rocker-chic. Fall in love with L.A.M.B like I did.

Runway Looks: Tom Ford Spring 2011

Tom Ford had a secret fashion show for his Spring 2011. His runway show is simple and intimate. Thec models came down with a care-free attitude, having fun as the strut down the catwalk sparkling in Tom's elegant and still wearable new line.

Glamorous.

Runway Looks : D&G Spring/Summer 2008

I love Domenico Dolce and Steffano Gabannas Spring (D&G) 2008 line MUCH better than the 2009 one. This years pieces are more funkier. The main colors used are tan, gold, black and white. There are lots of tight pants and sandals--I'm not a big fan of those though.

I don't follow runway shows for trends because they don't always pick up with the rest of the world, but I have seen the trademark sneakers worn by lots of celebrities and in magazines. I actually want a pair myself!
