The advertising authority claimed that the scenes "potentially hazardous railway setting was "irresponsible" considering her age."
The same authorities went ahead and banned this ad from Marc jacobs back in early November stating that “We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualise a child. We therefore concluded that the ad was irresponsible and was likely to cause serious offense.”
This agency must not be aware of all the blatantly sexual ads from the Dolce and Gabbana crew.

News: Iris Apfel Launches Jewelry Line
New York native and fashion icon Iris Apfel was interviewed at W magazine this past month about her earlier days growing up and how the fascination with jewelry and how her "more-is-more" approach to getting dressed came about.
Apfel is now taking a new business venture with a jewelry design collaboration with yoox.com [$45-$3,500] The pieces from the line are described to be layered tea-stained bone necklaces, hefty amber bracelets and rhinestone cuffs the size of your car headlights." As well as the line, she'll be selling some of her own pieces to the general public as well.

News: Designers + Their Uniforms
Alexander Wang is usually in a slouchy white shirt with black pants or shorts.
Karl Lagerfeld and his tailored black suit and high, white collars.
Tom Ford is always in a variation of black suit. Sometimes he will shock with a white one.
It has been proven after you had become a successful designer in the fashion industry you have to wear the same or similar outfits all the times that your photographed. I guess it's an undying rule. I've never heard why this is true or not, but it really interests me as to why it's true.
Another thing that I've notice is that designers rarely wear pieces from their lines. I recently did an article were the girls from Rodarte explained as to why they don't. Maybe these facts and many others have been answered in their bios.

News: Louise Wilson Says Students Have Less Skills
Famed Professor Louise Wilson of Central St. Martins who taught many of the greats such as late Alexander McQueen, says that fashion students have les skills now. "They outsource more." She believes that the pressure on students is growing as the industry is competitive everyday. A designer must churn out dozens of shows each year so just trying to keep up is a battle.

News: Forever 21 Is Still Knocking Off Designers
Made Her Think "Horizons Necklace" [$345]
Forever 21 "Sparking Triangle" [$14.80]
I'm not sure how or why Forever 21 is continuing to knock-off others designers work. I'm sure by now for all the other hick-ups in the past that they would learn their learn so they keep their reputation with loyal customers and not make their way to court over anything.
Which necklace do you like better? The original in my opinion shows more attention to detail and the Forever 21 copy looks like it was made overnight.

News: The Girls of Rodarte Don't Wear Their Own Clothes
The girls of Rodarte have collaborated with a book with Catherine Opie and Alec Sot to share their inspirations, thought process and how they got started. In a recent interview about the book we learn that Kate and Laura said that they don't wear the clothes they design.
Laura says, "I've really become distant from what we do...it's nothing I would wear in my day to day life but I'm much more minimal and pared back if I designer clothes that I would wanna wear every day, I would be very bored as a designer."
This subject was always unanswered for me when it came to designers in the fashion industry. What/Who do they wear? Well now we know Rodarte is shopping elsewhere.

British Vogue Is Hiding Adeles Body
The current issue of British Vogue has honored Adele with a cover story and DRESSED her in London based designer Burberry dress. The funny thing about that is that you can't see the dress. The entire cover in a close crop of just Adele's face. NY Times even mentioned that even her hair is doing a good job covering up her face.
When I saw this I was so appalled that we are still dealing with the plus size as a taboo image in the fashion industry. Why is so backwards to not support a market within the fashion industry that is obviously not going anywhere?
Reason Why No White After Labor Day
Labor Day is celebrated in the U.S. on the first Monday of September, marked the traditional end of summer. It also holds a fashion myth that is as old as time and no one can ever put a reason or origination on this myth.
The best explanation that I have heard was due to the fact that white is worn during the summer to keep cool. So it's more of end one season, start a new season marker.
At the same time, the fashion forward lived in big cities where were usually in northern climates that had noticeable seasons. Down south, seasons all blend so well together. Setting a date to not wear a certain garment doesn't make sense.

Dwayne Wade Shirtless In Men Magazine
Shouldn't this put in a women's magazine? No man wants to see Dwayne Wade topless in the latest issue of V Man magazine.
He is though wearing some hot designers; D&G, Givenchy and other big names. I guess ladies will be checking out that issue.

Clothing Line: Lanvin Commercial Fall 2012
Raquel Zimmermann and Karen Elson and other girl and guy models are featured dancing to Pitbulls "I Know You Want Me" in Lanvin's new Fall 2012 commercial. It's a fun video that shows that fashion doesn't have to be taken so seriously. I'm glad we get to see actual models dance though. Who knew they could?
