How can my favorite magazine shutdown?! Vibe and Teen Vogue are the only two magazines I actually subscribed too! On June 30, 2009, it was announced that Vibe was shutting its doors and ceasing publication immediately.[1] although according to Essence, Quincy Jones [Founder] has stated he would like to keep it alive online. We will see about that. It has been a full month, no Vibe.
I will keep my eyes open though.

trend alert_cut off’s
Cut off jeans are not new by any means. In the 80’s they were notoriously known in the gay community, now they are being embraced by all orientations again.
They are the new trend alert of the season. You can buy them from the store, or make them yourself. I recommend purchasing them from the store, because denim frays in the wash if you cut them yourself with ordinary scissors. The best place in Charlotte to buy is Urban Outfitters at South Park mall. They cost about the same price of a regular pair of jeans, $50-60. I think they are a good investments because they will stick around for a few seasons.

wegetDRESSED Daily: Emma watson | Teen Vogue
Emma Watson is known for her role she plays as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movie series. She started the movies around age 10 and now the sixth movie just came out this month and she is currently 19.
These photos come from her 3rd Teen Vogue shoot in an English country side. From article: “Fashion, in fact, has long been of particular interest to Emma. She’s worn enough big-night Chanel to become friendly with Karl Lagerfeld, the line’s iconic designer—”It’s kind of my lucky brand,” she explains, “a fail-safe”—and lately she has been branching out, experimenting with Balenciaga, Burberry (for whom she’s a fall face), Miu Miu, Alice Temperley, and a little-known Englishman named William Tempest, whose designs she first spotted at an up-and-comers event called Fashion Fringe. When she’s not premiere-hopping, she says, “I live, really, in jeans from Topshop, blazers from Ralph Lauren or Reiss, and ballet flats.”
“It’s very hard to describe your own style,” she admits. “And I’m young, so I’m still experimenting. But I think it’s quite British and very much about individuality.” Emma says she prefers to pull her own party dresses, but even when she’s short on time and must work with a stylist, she’s careful to make sure that the resulting outfits don’t look overdone.”

65. tip_double check your wigs
In this picture you can see Tyra’s lace on her lace front wig. [The white around her hairline] You can see that either the camera was very powerful and picked it up, or that the lace is actually done poorly. These are the downfalls of wearing a lace-front. I do NOT knock wigs and or weaves at all. Just if your going to do it, do it well. Sound off.

retail horror
I always hear horror stories from my friends who work in retail. Working at the mall has always been highly desired by young teens in high-school. It’s either the great discount or just the bragging rights you get to recieve from being able to punch in at the location, I don’t know what form drags people into work for retail chains.
My friend Kim got a job this summer working at abercrombie for kids at Northlake Mall. Anyone getting a job in this season of the economy is blessed, but at the same time cursed :[. Working for big retail chains always come with the bad always outweighing the good. The most angst I hear is about one shift a week, low pay, too many people on the schedule, poor management etc. Those are all important things considering you actually applied to a location to make money.
I work part-time, and I mean very much part-time at Charlotte Russe at Northlake Mall as well and I am in the same position. Thank GOD that Charlotte Russe was not my only job, because I would be in trouble. My manager basically told us, you get hours based on how well you sale. If you can make the store more money, they are more willing to put you on the schedule. I am not as upset as others because I make all of my other money from Starbucks [I LOVE YOU STARBUCKS!!]. So I just have Charlotte Russe for pocket change and basically gas money.
I feel that retail companies need to stop milking teens for all of there worth. I think a boycott should be put in place :D Sounds very “in-your-face” to me! Just for the record, I don’t shop at any of those major mall chains anyways. I am better off NOT paying for overpriced clothes.

Failed: Shoes
OMG. I can’t believe I actually waisted $20 on these back back in the day. I thought I was so cool. Now that I look back on this picture, I was like wow I tried to be cool back in the day lol. I wish someone would have tapped me on the shouler and been like, “Excuse me sir, those shoes are a hot ass mess.” Than walked away lol.
I have since gotten rid of the shoes. I apologize Burberry for buying those, never again.

59. the brow bar
Threading is all the new crave in America to manicure your brows. The process originated by the Persians [They have thick ass brows lol]. is made up of your aesthetician to using to pieces of thread and they twist them to pull hairs grouped at a time out of the follicle.Threading is supposed to be better than waxing, and lasers because it helps people who have sensitive skin as it avoids unpleasant side affects as the top layer of the skin is not damaged, burned or stripped off in the process.
They just opened up the threading shop at Northlake Mall. The first one in the area, there is a threading kiosk at Concord Mills, but I don't know if it is still there. So once again The Brow Bar is now open and no appointments are necessary. The price of all of their numerous services can be found on their site below.

wegetDRESSED Daily: Late Michael Jackson

OMG. I admired Michael so much as a kid! His style can not be pulled off by any other. The shiny, sparkly, studded clothes and accessories and jewelry he wore are like so awesome.

There needs to be a whole 25 page on his style starting from the beginning of his career. I would love to do it if I had the resources.
Do you know of a source online?
To all the MJ fans. May the King rest in peace, 1958-2009.

Androgynous: The Prince

His self-confidence expressed through the way he dresses is amazing. A genuine risk taker and rule breaker. He gives me androgynous every time I see him photographed. I personally don't want to dress JUST like him, I'm just giving him props and telling you that you could take a few notes.
When people get older they develop signature looks. Prince's look consists of manheels, full cut trousers, and blazers. I love it. [He is lucky he has small feet, because heels over size 10 are so fucking hard to find].
Kids, don't be scared to take risks. Who cares what a hater thinks? Do you.

John Legend With Horse Riding Boots

John Legend hasn't done anything, any normal guy his age with money has in terms of getting dressed in the morning. But this outfit is really cute on him. He should try it not only on just the red carpet.
I am guessing that the suit is D&G because of the slim cut and shiny material. All the hip celebrities are doing the skinny suit. If you are not, than you're just old. If it's not it's still an awesome combo with the shiny patent leather riding boots that I'm loving.

Girls Have So Many Options

Has anyone else noticed that girls can go into any clothing store [with both male and female clothes] and be overwhelmed with items to choose from. Guys on the other hand never have as much selection.
I believe it's because men don't shop enough to give designers the demand to produce more clothing. One of the stores that I personally know of are Urban Outfitters and American Apparel. Those two stores [I believe] have about equal amount clothes.
This was just a random rant. No science in it. But fellas, I know you know what I'm talking about.
