what i wear_day five

I felt very 70's with this outfit. The plaid is what makes that so. These are also the shorts shorts that I made. All I did was take an old pair of black straight-legged jeans and cut them right above the knee. After that, I you have to do is make a cuff about an inch up.

I apologize about the quality of the shot because I was using my camera phone and I finally realized that I can't keep relying on it for capturing my outfits.

Trend Alert: Full Cut Trousers

Full cut trousers are what's hot for winter. They have mostly been seen on women, but they can also be pulled off by the opposite sex. I personally don't have a pair but will totally invest in some. I first seen them in GQ magazine and thought they were so fierce and had to have them.

As of now, I have been religious to the skinny jean and have not/will not let go of them. But I could definitely see full cut trousers making a small staple.

Also please remember that to keep your outfit proportioned, if your going to wear full cut trousers, make sure you wear a slim-fitted top. If you decide on wearing a billowy tee-shirt, your setting your self up for failure.

This picture was taken in my room by the way.

my 1st day of class outfit

School started today. My first day of college, and this is what I wore to my classes. Send me your photo's of your first day of school outfits.

By the way, this picture was taken in my dormitory bathroom, because I don't have a full length mirror in my room! Talk about torture!

Tip: Top Three Needs for Fall 2008

1. Everyone needs to invest in a good peacoat. These are timeless pieces that can upgrade anyone's wardrobe. You should expect to pay around $80-$150 for a nice quality one. It's time to ditch The North Face everyone...you know who you are! lol. I have found that if you are of a slimmer figure like me, you should go into the women's section of where ever your shopping and try them on there.

2. A good pair of winter boots are a must
have this upcoming season. They will keep your feet warm when it's 30 degrees outside. Good boots are a neutral color that can be paired with more than one outfit. I have seen a lot of talk about Dr. Marten's but there not my taste.

3. Thick scarves are essential in the colder months as well. You can find tons of scarves anywhere. But the more you have, the more outfits you can wear them with.

Tattoo #2

I wanted another tattoo today, so before I had to be at work, I stopped by the tattoo parlor and had my wrist done. Yes, I know it looks a little blurry, and that's because it got "blown out". It was not suppose to happen, but it does happen because the wrists have thin capillaries...or some crazy shizz like that, but anyways this may be my last for now because I'm so disapointed about how it looks.

recent purchase_bracelet and cologne

I was bored at the mall...(an extremely bad habit for anyone!), and I seen this cool bracelet at Buckle.com. I like religious jewelry because it helps keep me sane and calm whenever I look at it during the day. The bracelet was only $4.50, and I believe that is shopping on a budget! It is made out of simple painted wood and elastic string.
I was also at Sephora and was just sampling the colognes that they had on display. I had smelled Burberry's cologne before in little magazine inserts, but a cologne always smells better on ones body. So I sprayed about 2 pumps on my wrist and took a good whiff, and it smelled sooo good. It wasn't strong at all. It has a light almost sweet and floral scent to it. I'm not a big fan of "musky, dark" colognes, so I recommend this to anyone who has my same taste.

The price of the cologne is only $53 so it's not THAT much...

Happy Shopping!

Trend: Shutter Glasses

Kanye West started wearing these when he came out with the "Stronger" music video. After that, they have blown up and everyone loves them. They are not made by a specific company as a brand so you can find them anywhere. HotTopic.com has them in a variety of colors to choose from starting at $9.99 (depending on your location).

Honestly, this trend is not going to last that long so don't stock up on them. Pretty soon some new eye accessory will become popular.

Shoes: Osklen

I was on Kanye West's blog today and was checking out his fashion posts and seen these cool kicks. If Kanye recommends them, than I'm down lol. I just found out that Kanye even HAD a site from reading about it in the NY Times lol.

The company that they come from is called Osklen; they are Brazilian.

Beauty: Virgin Manicure

No more cuticles for a while I see.

I have been contemplating getting a professional manicure for a while but was scared because I didn't want the shiny polish on them. So today I was bored at the mall with an hour to spare before going into work, and I saw this nail shop.

The sign said manicures were $13, so I thought I might as well go pamper myself.
The end results are above. I should have snapped a before photo showing you my nail condition.
Tell me what you think.

Hair: Ricky Martin

I found this old picture of Ricky Martin from krpmag.com. They were kinda poking fun at his hairdo. I personally don't see it as UGLY, it's actually kind of cute. It could totally be curled just a LIL' bit less and formed into a fo-hawk. But what do I know? If Ricky like's that than so be it! lol.

That being said, I just love fo-hawks in general of all types, thats why I posted this picture. I think that too much hair all over your head can hard to maintain. This look can easily be styled every day and it can be made hip.

what i want_number (n)ine toggle vest

I saw this vest on a member from Chictopia.com. I thought it was so awesome the way he is wearing it. I have never seen a vest like this before and the way it is paired with the skinny jeans sets off the entire ensemble so well.

[dressed] clothing line_Benjamin Bixby

Andre 3000, the hip-hop recording artist of the duo Outkast will be launching his clothing line soon. It is composed of a 70 piece line that was inspired by "U.S. prep style and by college football from the 1930's".

All of the clothes have been designed by Mr. 3000 himself and some of his pieces include fedora hats, waistcoats and pink sweatshirts, all pieces that you see him wear on a regular basis. There are not many photos of his line, but I did happen to find this one above on a blog. There were comments about how "ornately designed the stitching was when compared to regular cable-knit sweaters.

Even though Benjamin Bixby is not really my style, I am looking forward to it because there may be some pieces that I would like to cop. And just to let you know his line will only be on sale at Barney's stores for now. No word on if it will be available online.

wegetDRESSED Daily Celebrity: Tom Kaulitz

I just heard about Tokio Hotel when I was watching TRL the other day (8-5-08) and saw them. At first I just thought that they were just some new punk-emo band. But Tom caught my eye because he had dreads and had on really urban "street-wear". It was kind of funny because this guy is from Germany and looks like a black dude.

Tip: "Manscaping"

A guy getting his eyebrows is a good thing. Nothing is worst than a unibrow or messy unkept brows. I understand that it is hard for a guy to walk into a salon and sit down in a room full of women and ask to get his eyebrows done...yes, I understand.

I first saw a straight guy with waxed brows when I watched the TV show "Growing Up Gotti" and was introduced to Carmine. He is so bold for being an open metrosexual.

In the end, it looks so good!! The only two problems with waxing is that you must continue to get routine touch-ups or your brows will look a mess and also if you get a aesthetician who jacks up your brows, than you will have to suffer for a good month until they grow back in.

My suggestion for guys just starting out and are interested in keeping your brows clean is by plucking at home with a good tweezer. This is good because you are in control of how neat you want your brows to look and it won't cost you $8 every time you do it.

rainboots for men

Guys should wear rain boots to protect there "good" shoes when they go out. There are plenty of places to find cheap ones, I like the ones at Target.com, you would probably have to stroll over to the Women's department to find the best ones lol. Other than that, a $20 pair of nice rain boots are all worth it.

recent purchase_nike dunks

I just bought these shoes on Friday (8-1-08), which is TAX FREE WEEKEND in Charlotte!! Woot Woot. The shoes were already on sale at DTLR for only $69.98, and that's all I had to pay! It was so awesome. The shoes usually run $90-100 so I believe I got a major steal.

I love my shoes and I am definitely buying more soon in different colors.

Trend: Shemagh Scarves

These scarves have been seen everywhere theses days. The fashion chain Urban Outfitters sales them now lol! I have originally seen them being sold on the streets of New York,  but I didn't know if they coulld be considered a knock-off of some designer?!

To give you a little background info....
They can be called "shemagh, keffiyeh, or yashmag". They are traditional headdresses worn by Arab men. They are worn because of the dry climate that these men live in and occasionally because of sand storms etc. Also now while American troops are in war, you can see American men wearing them as well too. (This is how I think they became popular in America; a soldier came home and one of kids saw it and thought it was dope and had to wear it! lol)

I personally have three; one in blue, red, and white! I love them soo much. I am not going to be buying anymore of them, because I want to try more silk scarves this fall.
Sound Off.

my ghetto fake LV wallet

I have had this wallet for sometime now and it has been fallin' apart like crazy. I don't like purchasing or condoning purchases of knock-offs, they are so not worth it. Especially if you are going to be using your product a lot.

I am considering buying a real one...sometime in the next 5 years lol. But as of now, this wallet is literally in the garbage. I threw it away. Yes, I know $20 wasted lol.

Adamo Ruggiero

Adamo Ruggiero is an actor on a hit Canadian TV show called Degrassi. He plays an openly gay character Marco Del Rossi, I have watched that show for years and every season he is always the best [dressed] on the shows. I even tried to imitate some of his ensembles!

Yes he is now openly gay as of this year, (just in case you where wondering) so thats why he can dress so good lol. jK!!! But you can see him on the January 2008 cover of Fab Magazine. Hopefully in the future, we will see more of Adamo after Degrassi.
