on my ipod_lady gaga - starstruck

Heard this song for the first time at my job [Charlotte Russe]. Caught my ear. I'm not sure exactly what being starstruck means in relation to the song. She is basically just talking about how she went up in the club and kicking it with the DJ. What does it mean? Lady Gaga is still the shit and love her for coming on the scene with her fresh creativity.

Snippet
Starstruck,
Baby could you blow my heart up ( x4)

Baby now that we're alone, got a request
Would you make me number one on your playlist
Got your dirty headphones
With the left side on
Wanna scratch it back and forth, back and forth uhuh
Put your hands on my waist, pull the fader
Run it back with your original flavor
Put the breakdown first, up into the chorus to the verse

Sound off.

What It Means To Be/Get DRESSED?

The word DRESSED can be used to describes a person. It means that:
1. You know how to dress for your body
2. You ooze confidence regardless of what your wearing
3. Your not afraid to dress outside the box
4. You look for inspiration everywhere

This is what this web-site is all about. A source of inspiration for all of those who get DRESSED.

41. top model season finale!

Sorry this post is so untimely. It's just that all my posts are already set scheduled ahead of time. This was pushed way down the line LOL. Better late than never right??

I am glad that Teyona won! That big-eyed bitch Allison ugh. I am so mad that she made it to the final too. She is so ugly. But I honestly thought that Aminat was gonna be the winner just because she did kinda better on her shoots and had a greater and bigger personality.

Even though "Top Models" in the past never get famous like I hope for. The show was good this past season. Cycle 13 will be interesting to see now that all the models will be 5'7" and shorter. Oh gawd. Top Model is falling off. But we will see what happens.

future purchase_lacoste red cologne

I love sweet and fresh colognes. The ones that I currently wear right now are Burberry London and With Love by Hilary Duff! I switch them up based on how I feel. I only bought the Hilary Duff perfume because it reminded me of cotton candy and the smell lasted for a good while. After this bottle runs out I wouldn't buy it again.

For my birthday I am getting the Lacoste Red cologne [pictured left]!! I don't go for a scent just for the name, as long as it makes me feel good and ultimately smell good than I'm good. It's going to be on sale for only about $40 at Northlake Mall. The original price is like $65 so it is a great deal. I can't wait to get my hands on this cologne because I can't get enough of the smell. I was reading on a forum and to describe it it has "fruity and spicy" notes.
What do you wear?

Day 25: Work

I'm kinda pissed off finding out that I am not allowed to wear shorts or rubber-soled shoes; ie Vans or Chucks or graphic tees! My manager said we can only wear dress shoes or boots and solid color t-shirts. I was hoping that working at CR would give me options to dress freely and express my real style. I am upset because I don't want people coming into the store that I dress like that LOl. I told myself I was not going to go out and waste more money on clothes to wear just to my job.

And as for "what i wear" on this day. I am just going to show you my boring outfit. Sorry. By the way, here is the shirt that I told you about that I got from Oldnavy for basically free. I love V-neck shirts--It's all I wear. So I was sold on it LOL.

I am here pictured in the dressing room while on the rare small breaks that I do get.

what to wear_beaded soutache dress

My eyes adore this dress major! Very classy and dressy. I think this is the only one we have left in the store though, but you can get online if you really want it. This dress could almost pass for being somewhat expensive eventhough it's actually no more than $40. Well done Charlotte Russe. I will be keeping you posted on more "fabu-less, need-to-buy-items"! LOl.
Where could you see yourself wearing this though?

recent purchase_oldnavy clearance LOL

My stuff was like actually free LOl. I saved $50!! I bought three things from Oldnavy and only spent $8!! There was an additional 50% taken off the already discounted price! [You can see the original prices above] How awesome was that. I could not resist. So I got a gray v-neck sweater, a red-striped long-sleeve shirt and a cute blue v-neck. I felt confident and happy because I am broke and don't have much money. Oldnavy is kinda addictive.

But honestly, the clothes there are not my style; I have a problem with going to stores just because they are cheap Lol. But you will see the new purchases soon!

wegetDRESSED Daily Celebrity: Beyonce

I am not saying that she is best [dressed] all the time, but she has her good days. LOl. Most of the time she just does a simple top and jean, and that's not [dressed]. She keeps a little too conservative for me when she is on the streets. Especially when your in a whole different fashion bracket. Having such access to great designers?!? I don't understand.

But this photo here I like. The loose and baggy look paired with the high-heel is doing wonders for me! Most times people do baggy looks, they get lost in the outfit. I guess it is also her confidence that is helping too. But most of the time I would advise to do only one baggy thing at a time in an outfit. Like either a baggy top or baggy bottom. Not both.

Product Review: Tinted Brow Gel

If you have never heard of it, it is a great necessity for every make-up bag! [for both men and women]. What is it you ask? It looks like a mascara, but it is meant specifically for your sparse and wild brows. It helps keep them 'kept' during the day as well as add some color to them. Everyone's brows need to color to keep the looking full and defined. I like it especially because it is natural in appearance and no one can tell your wearing it.

I was introduced to it when I went to Ulta for the first time. I told the associate my problems I was having with trying to fill in my brows and keep them looking like I wasn't wearing anything on my face.

I was not even going to put a 'before' picture up here because that will scare people and give them nightmares. So I just wanted to say that my brows are nobody's cute at ALL LOl. Just trust me and know that this can help you if suffer the problems that I have. Brow gel is very cheap and you can get it just about anywhere and in many shades.

the purpose of a lint roller??

Lint rollers don't work. They never get all the lint off. I have a sweater that gets majorrrr lint balls. The lint rollers are useless on it! It's just a big roll of tape. I think I will have to just throw the sweater away because I can not wear it in public again. I was not supposed to put this particular sweater in the dryer, but I forgot. Ugh stupid dryer fucked up my clothes. I wish there was a way to fix my sweater. Does this happen to you?

So now I use my lint roller to clean dust off my desk. LOl. I find it better used there.

tip_male color coordination

Steph Jones is showing us a great example of how an outfit is greatly coordinated. An outfit is not required to be "matchy-matchy". You can still look great and wear more than two colors. The major thing that you must keep in mind is that your colors must somehow flow. It's more like a organized mess.

Pick a single color to focus on and try to pick other things that have that same color in it. In this outfit black was the color of focus. The black in the shirt, pieces of black in the shorts, and there is also black in the shoes. The pop of color; the baby blue hat. Is OK to do. It just puts the icing on this outfit. Well done!

35. tv_the fashion show gimmick??

I watched the premiere episode of "The Fashion Show", no I was not impressed. I felt I only watched the show because I saw Kelly Rowland on the commercials LOl. When I first heard she was going to be on the show, I was like "She is not fashionable nor trendy!!" LOl. I could see if the girl was a designer on the side or something...but noooo, She just said that she "[sits] front row of fashion shows". What the fuck?? I don't believe that qualifies you to be a judge on "The Fashion Show". But that is enough of my tirade. Other than that Isaac is good and actually some of the designers were cool. But I'm just saying this "Show" is not a Project Runway replacement LOl. That is all.

On a ligther note I did love the dress that James-Paul designed! He calls it 'The Rubik's Cube Dress'. So awesome! It's available online here. It is only $199 by the way. I do kind of like that Bravo is allowing all the winners designs to be sold each week, unlike Project Runway.

new [dressed] job!_charlotte russe

So now I am a new Sales Associate at Charlotte Russe at Northlake Mall! Isn't that exciting?! I applied there because I need to make some extra money for the summer. I was basically hired thanks to some connections I had [Thank you Sarah!]. A great part about the job is that now I get to work my styling skills out on customers that come in :]

Yes, I have heard the many horror stories about working in retail...but I am actually still really excited. I always wanted to work in retail to see for myself how bad/good it is. I still have my primary job though at Starbucks. So the crappy hours that I know I will be given, I won't mind. I just love fashion. Forty percent discount here I come LOl.

Recent Purchase: Bronzer Brush

I have been using MAC makeup for about a year now and I am satisfied with the product. I first had started using Studio Tech foundation and found it too thick. I have now switched over to a Powdered Studio Fix foundation and I love it so much better [I am NC-45 if anyone is curious LOl]. When I was using Studio Tech I used a foundation brush. But unfortunately my face looks so blotchy when I use the same brush for Studio Fix. It just doesn't work. I told myself that I wasn't going to pay $50 for a MAC brush when I can get one from Sephora or even Walgreens for a cheaper price.

I did wind up getting this cute little Bronzer brush #44 from the Sephora Professional Line. One of the guys there said that he uses a bronzer brush for his powdered foundation too and it works just fine. I went out on the limb and trusted him because I'm not a pro at all the makeup tricks yet LOL. When I do use my new brush I get an awesome airbrush finish and it looks great. Better than before when I was just using a basic foundation brush. YUCKKKIEEE. This new brush by the way was only $26. All I did was take my old one into the store and they allowed me to exchange it for the new one. To check out their other numerous of brushes that they sale, click here.

Article: Mrs Obama is Helping Save Fashion

Everyone looks up to her, both men and women! Her style is impeccable! This is a news clips from Time Magazine Online titled, "Can Michelle Obama Save Fashion Retailing?" Michelle can make fashion so interesting in captivating. She steps outside the box for the stereotypical First Lady, she wears a lot of pieces from well known everyday chains. I have said this before, you don't have to look nice by buying expensive clothes. I hope people are following her ways. Take notes from her people!!

"The First Lady has been a one-woman stimulus package for the suffering fashion retail industry. Designers, store buyers, shoppers and stock investors are all watching her every move. And she has been in the White House barely 100 days. "She's the first thing my clients want to talk about," says Jennifer Black, president of Jennifer Black & Associates, a retail equity research firm. "She's a huge deal. And I don't think this is a short-term thing. Sometimes you get a flash in the pan, but that's not going to be the case with Michelle Obama."

No retailer owes more to the First Lady than J. Crew. In October, amid the Sarah Palin $150,000 wardrobe scandal, Obama wore a $340 J. Crew set on the Tonight Show. "Ladies, we know J. Crew," she said to the studio audience. J. Crew's Web traffic shot up 64% the next day, and the yellow blouse, cardigan and skirt she wore on the show sold out immediately. Later she wore a J. Crew camisole, cardigan and pencil skirt in the March 2009 issue of Vogue. A hefty wait-list immediately started for all three fall items."

recent purchase_aldo "necklace"

I had a bunch of free time on my hands and I was waiting for my friend at the mall. [Not a good thing for anyone to be in]. So I went around browsing. I saw this cute belt chain at Aldo. When I first saw it, I thought it was a necklace! LOl. But came to find out the truth LOl. Wompp Wompp.

The associate at Aldo was like "Yea, I have actually seen a lot of guys wearing the belt chains as necklaces." I was like "cooliness!" The chain was only $18.00 so it's easy on the pockets. Gives an outfit an urban look.

32. worst [dressed] celebrity_angela simmons

Risk takers are always praised in the fashion world, because what would be a new trend if no one tries new things?! Well Angela didn't make a trend here. Just a faux paus LOl. Nice try baby girl, but the loud purple Louboutin's and ripped jeans together did not make the outfit cohesive. But I do like the oversized, heavy layered pearls. It's very hobo-chic.

Hot or Not: Chanel Pumps

I saw these Chanel pumps on Media Takeout. They are not even cute at all. Just because they are a designer label doesn't mean they should be worn. Especially on the street. I could see these on the runway. Other than that, no ma'am.

tip_bleach is not your friend

Bleach is a really powerful chemical that destroys your clothes! [Example "A" above].
I'm pretty sure you know that already. Everyone has suffered an attack of this caustic killer.
PLEASE be cautious of it. It has ruined too many of my best pieces.

My chore at home is to wash dishes and my mom always made me put bleach in the dish water. UGHHH. I hate that. That was how most of my clothes came in contact with it. But other times was accidents and colored clothes not being separated properly before the wash.

My recommendation? Do not buy bleach at all. There are great alternatives that can help keep your whites and your colors colored LOl.
